James T. Allen, better known by his stage name, James Allen, is a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where he received his formal education and training in the Philadelphia school system. James Allen, who was raised by his grandmother, was a quiet but exemplary student in school, who did well with his academics, and played trumpet in the school band. It was his grandmother, who insisted that he attend Sunday school and church, for which he is grateful, and attributes her guidance to the spiritual dimension of his life. James has always had a keen interest in music, and especially enjoyed expressing his creativity through rhythm. James has been making music since the age of 16. As years passed, James Allen began to assemble his own home recording studio, and spent many hours composing lyrics, and creating a musical background for expressing or rapping his original lyrics. His primary influences are Jay Z, Kanye West, J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar and Wale. James’s passion for music is evident in his relentless pursuit of excellence in his music, and a desire to do whatever it takes to get his music to the masses.
